System Boiler Installation
What is a system boiler?
System boiler installations come in two parts ? the main boiler and a water cylinder tank (typically found in your airing cupboard). The main heating elements are found in the boiler and the cylinder stores the hot water for when its ready to be used.
Unlike regular boilers there?s no need for a tank in the loft, so it?s a good option if you don?t have a loft or if you want to convert your loft into a living space. It also eliminates the risk of leaks and frost damage in your loft.
System Boiler Benefits
System boilers also work with solar water heating systems, which have environmental benefits as well as lower energy bills.
Additionally, the hot water can supply multiple taps, showers and baths at the same time without losing pressure or heat.
System Boiler Considersations
One consideration is that system boilers can take up to an hour to heat, so you?ll need to set a timer so it?s ready for your morning and evening routines. Once it is heated however it?ll stay hot for hours and there will be plenty of hot water to go around, so system boilers are great for large families.
During your free home survey we?ll ask you questions about your usage so we can recommend the right size water tank for your needs.

Other Boiler Types
Regular Boiler
Combi (or combination) boilers are the UK’s most popular type of boiler for gas central heating and domestic hot water.
A Combi boiler only heats water when a hot tap or shower is turned on, ensuring maximum efficiency. There is no need to find space for a water storage cylinder or have a tank in the loft.
Heat only boilers are also known as ‘regular’ or ‘conventional’ boilers.?If you are replacing an old boiler and have a small expansion tank and a larger cold water storage cistern in your loft space, you probably already have a heat only boiler.
Heat only boilers are usually installed on an open vented system.?The system will usually comprise two tanks in the loft.
